Press Release: Winston-Salem Segway Tours Gliding Into a Merger
Triad ECO Adventures and Revolution Gliding Tours have jointly announced that the two companies will merge effective October 7, 2015. Having collaborated throughout the past two years, Triad ECO Adventures’ and Revolution Gliding Tours’ mutual enthusiasm for downtown Winston-Salem naturally led to discussions about combining forces. The combination will result in one of the state’s most versatile (and largest) Segway tour operations.
Both companies began offering guided Segway tours in mid-2013. Since that time, their 2 wheeled machines have introduced thousands of visitors (and locals) to the sights of the city. Their commitment to customer experience earned both companies a 2015 Certificate of Excellence Award by TripAdvisor.com.
Hal Boyle founded Triad ECO Adventures (TEA) with the passion to create a variety of world-class Segway tours to connect local points of history, places, and people. In addition, TEA offers group Segway opportunities for team-building, outings, scavenger hunts, costume glides, weddings, family picnics, and other specialty marketing events. Under the "Segway of the Triad" brand, they also service & sell Segway products between Charlotte & Raleigh to law enforcement, security companies, universities, large warehouses, corporate plants, and eco-oriented individuals.
Joey Burdette and Terry Miller founded Revolution Gliding Tours as a reflection of their excitement for downtown Winston-Salem. Early on, they realized that for their tours to thrive, they needed to promote other businesses along their route. Their entrepreneurial vision included partnerships with several downtown businesses. These partnerships eventually led the pair to open Twin City Hive, a coffee and gift shop on the corner of Brookstown Avenue and Cherry Street. Their shop features coffee from 7 N.C. roasters and retail items from over 20 local vendors.
Triad ECO Adventures will continue leading tours in and around the city with an evolving tour line-up. Their tours will include future stops at Twin City Hive. Guests will be able to complete reservations via TEA’s website or in person at Twin City Hive.
